My modem is Westell E90-610015-06
I portforwarded it. 6112-6119
I try hosting and get nothing.
Is there something I'm missing?|||If you are using a firewall, did you create a rule to allow incoming connections?|||Yes I did. I even turned off the firewall, but the same thing still happens.|||I found out that the ports are closed. I portforwarded both on my modem and firewall but it's still closed.|||Any help please?|||You could try to find a tutorial at portforward.com and make sure that you didn't miss anything important.
Other than that, I don't know what the problem could be.|||i have the same exact problem. and sumtimes you need to check because both your modem and your router can have a firewall. i have not figured out how to get past them tho.|||Just get to your router's configuration (IP address, common is 192.168.x.x) then forward ports on your virtual server. For example in my router you can forward ports for "Warcraft 3" by selecting "Warcraft 3" option in menu :)|||you could try changing the port to 80 or 443, usually these ports are open for web servers, then just change the port your router is forwarding to 443. also check that your computer is using a static ip because if it isnt, your computer's ip might change in your network and the port forwarding invalid.|||Were you previously able to host on your computer?
Chansta is probably right about the IP address changing...
You need to check your computer IP address & the External IP address of your router.
If you can't find it check here: http://war3.incgamers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46487
Supposing your IP addresses are setup correctly...use the DMZ option to test & see if it's the router...if it works your settings in router are wrong.
If it doesn't work, you probably are running vista/windows7 or some firewall, maybe an antivirus program like webroot, norton, mcafee, windows defender.
What can you do about it?
1 - Identify the program doing the blocking (usually by mousing over all the running icons in bottom right next to clock) & configuring it to let war3 out on the ports listed in the link I gave above.
2 - Uninstall war3, reinstall to a different directory (forcing the blocking programs to create a new rule & then when you first connect to battle net, alt+tab out & see if there's a window popped up behind it asking to allow or deny the war3 program).
EDIT: I noticed you didn't say if the ports are forwarded in TCP or UDP or both...that could be your mistake too|||I accept with information: you could try changing the port to 80 or 443, usually these ports are open for web servers, then just change the port your router is forwarding to 443.
