Maps'n'Mods Section Issues

"I log in, but whenever I try to download a map it says I need to register."

Check your browser preferences regarding cookies and set it to always accept cookies.

"How do I improve my ranking?"

Your rank improves with the manner in which you vote, as determined by some formula in a program that is run by the site daily, you could offcourse try to find a way to get a high voteweight, but as soon as the staff detects you are spamming votes, we will gladly reset your vote weigt =)

"How do I play downloaded maps?"

You have to put them in your Maps folder inside the Warcraft 3 folder. The path should be /Warcraft 3/Maps/*downloaded file*.

General Warcraft Problems

"Give me a free CD Key/ give me a link to a free CD Key!"

If you create a thread asking this, or any variation on this, you will be banned immediately, as will anyone helping you. Free CD Keys are NOT alright.

"I lost my CD Key..."

Go here for details. If you cannot recover a CD Key by following the instructions, then you'll need to go out and purchase the game again.

"I can't host!"

In your router setup you have to forward port 6112 - 6119 to your IP or at least open/enable them. Then make sure your firewall doesn't block those ports. Click here for a port-opening helper. For Linksys routers, this place should have a downloadable user guide that will help.

"In this one game, such and such happened..."

If you have a replay and would like to discuss the game, click here and create a new thread. If you want to discuss strategies used, go to the appropriate strategy section.

What do I post where?

Posting in the correct board is to a high relevance in our community, since we have a limited staff that tries that look over everything as regulary as possible.

Most boards speak for themselves, specially since all boards have a little description that go along with those, that give a short explanation what that specific board is all about.

If you are still Confused about in which board you should post, go to the board that you would think is appropriate for your question or information, and see if there is FAQ(Frequently Asked Question), those will mainly have some more information on what belongs to it's board.

If that all doesn't help Try PM-ing "Warnicro" or active moderator.

Questions about this FAQ/Guideline Set

If you have any questions about these guidelines/regulations/rules, feel free to contact Warnicro (click his name and then 'Send a private message to Warnicro' or 'Send him message via e-mail to Warnicro@gmail.com'). I (warnicro) will gladly respond to any concerns any member might have. However, open disagreement with the rules on the forums, or defiance of/ insolence towards the moderator team, will result in the user being banned.

Don't Respond to Ads

[:1]Please folks, DO NOT respond to spam threads, unless you want to see more spam.

When a bot posts a spam thread, and people respond, the board sends an email to the spammer. This verifies that the board is legit, and it has active members who read and reply to posts.

Guess what happens then?

That's right, this site gets added to the big Spammer's Directory, and we get more spam.|||Why can't you delete spam posts? I've seen a few lying around...

[:1]Now that wiii.net is dead, I hope the community will understand that we NEED its support. In an ideal world, nobody would have to worry about paying bills, but we live in a world where websites die because of a lack of financial support.

Rush has been paying the site's maintenance from his own pocket, he said he wouldnt be able to keep it that way for long, we know what happened...

Sure you wont become a shareholder by donating 10 bucks, but at least you will know that you did your part, and you have our most grateful thanks for that. Clicking a couple of times on the banned is a good thing too, dont overdo it as I think it wont be recorded more than a couple of times in 24 hours (but im sure rush will correct me on it).

Hope the message gets thru, as it would kill me to see us lose another site and a huge chunk of our population.

paypal, rush is fixing it or so he said. Otherwise banners will do, a couple of clicks everytime you visit us (I click when I first enter, then when im about to leave) also make sure to let the windows load.|||I would use paypal, but I dont have a credit card :(

Also, about banners...I see none...|||Forgive me, but I've got another question; do debit cards work with Pay Pal, or does it only take credit? About supporting the site, is there any other way Besides PayPal to donate to you guys? I have never used a service like that and am not really comfortable doing so. I did check their site though and started to sign up for an account but I am over cautious when it comes to giving that type of information. I would be more than willing to donate though.

I enjoy the forums here and would like to see this site around with it's current staff and community. I realize that for this to be the case someone has to help a little here and there.

Let me know if there is any other way please.

Banners are on the right side of the blue strip that goes across the page at the very top of the page, every page.



DB|||for some reason i cant see them on my home computer. i can on these school computers though, so ill press them whenever im here|||well ill do my part by clickin banners the odd time i visit this site cuz i dont have a credit card or id donate monthly.|||I would be prepared to support the site, but I have only managed to download one map so far - and when I have five failed attempts it wont let me try any more. Good song huh?|||its quite catchy|||I think i speak for everyone when i say ROCK ON* however for those of us who want to support but lack a bank account for age or w/e reasons mabye money can be sent to an address via the post. Alot more people would be able to donate. Many parents and guardians and people are cautious with giving out information and rightly so. Mabye we can send rush cash.

To the Guy who asked if banners give you money: if i am not mistaken only registered webmasters (like Rush) get cash. They host a site and whoever goes to their site and clicks they get money from whoever the link is by. Pay per click. This is how google makes so much if you look on the right hand side of search pages.
