whitedragon254's Road to the Homeland Chapter 1

I'm really intrigued about playing a custom Campaign where the bloodelves finally find their new home/source of magic/whatever, and whitedragon254's Road to the Homeland Chapter 1 is all I can find so far, but I'm having a bit of an issue with it. I download it as a .w3x file, since it's only the first chapter, and it says the file's too big to play. I save it as a .w3n file and when I go into the custom campaign menu and double click it, it goes to a black screen with "just another warcraft III campaign" along the bottom, but nothing to click on. Am I saving it wrong or what? I tried to see if there was any way to mail whitedragon254 on here, but I couldnt see anything... anywho, feedback would be most appreciated as this map intrigues me a lot!|||For starters, changing it from .w3x -> .w3n is not something you should do, unless you know for a fact that it is indeed a campaign file and it had it's file extension changed for some unknown reason (basically, don't change the file extension ever, there's no need to).

Secondly "I download it as a .w3x file, since it's only the first chapter, and it says the file's too big to play. ", what are you trying to do? Play this on Battle.net? I would assume the game is single-players (only guessing) and is not meant for Online/Battle.net, so do not play custom games that are several mb large, on Battle.net.|||I think 2.5Mbs is the limit.|||Yes this is only the first chapter sorry. Life's been hitting me pretty hard so the campaigns on hold atm.

I had a problem in the past where the map got corrupted. Im going to check right now. Sorry for the inconvenince.

Edit: Actually thanks for posting about my map, made me relise that this isnt my new version i made a while back. xD i am uploading the new version (Well it was actually made almost a month ago but i forgot to upload it), just as soon as i double check it to make sure i finshed all of it.

A Certain RPG

Hello all, I found my warcraft 3 discs not too long ago and installed the beloved and forgotten game. However I was looking for a map and can't recall what it was called.

I thought it was an Open RPG but all the maps I find are the level up ones. The ones i'm thinking of were you were given a spawner and could make whatever you wanted and you made your own stories with other player, a roleplaying thing. There was a series of the maps, all different terrain and stuff.

If anyone can help me find what these maps were called it would be greatly appreciated.

Edit - Also, if it's a help to anyone the commands were usually entered in a -Command Variable type of format. Such as "-spawn 12 footman" or "-weather heavy lordaeron rain"

EDIT- (Again!) - I found some of the "new" ones for it, but I still want to find the older ones if anyone knows where to find them.

Looking for a skilled player

So i got into Wc3 a few nights ago and im getting the hang of things and i train against the cpu, but some of the things cpu does just blows me away.

I've only managed to beat the normal cpu once.

So I've gotten to a desperate level or wanting a mentor. Just someone who can play games and set up situations and other things mentors do to help me become experienced and have more understanding of the game.

Please and thanks in forward to whom ever is happy to help.|||I suggest you rather go watch random replays. There are many websites dedicated to replays and warcraft skill, you just have to find them.

Some important aspects:

1. The hero is the most important part of your army. I've watched a few high level games, and in those games the heroes meant everything, and the game tends to be over when one player's hero dies. The item shop is essential in this regard.

2. Micro-management. This is arguably the most important skill in Warcraft 3. Micro units out of harm's way, block in enemy units, focus fire, DO NOT attack move, learn to cast spells the most effective way, etc.

3. Expanding is also extremely important; it will determine whether you get starved of resources in longer games or if you are the player with 20000 unused gold at the end of the game. Related to that, your gold should never go above 500.

4. Build more unit production buildings as time goes by; if you find your army destroyed you'll have to build it up again very quickly.

I'm not a pro or anything (I think I've only beaten an Insane computer about once...), but I believe these tips to be quite valid. However, I strongly suggest that you rather play against HUMANS! Playing against other people helps you te learn new playstyles, tactics and such, and it's much better practice.

Can't play new maps.

Hey i am new to here and i think i posted in the wrong section, i think.



Well i downloaded maps and i saved them and the folder, when i try to play them it doesn't show the area that says ''player 1, human, color, and etc'' and when i try to press ''play'' it just ''refreshes'' the page. Also some maps give me an error and it exits out of WarCraft. Any help? Thanks.|||1. What Warcraft III game do you have? Reign of Chaos or Reign of Chaos -and- The Frozen Throne?

i lost my CD case how do i get my current CD key?

dose anyone know a program that will tell you your current cd key for warcraft frozen throne?|||I dident find a program, but a know 1 method to get that cd-key back.

Looking for Awesome RPGs

I have tried dling sooo many RPGs here on the site...

I am looking for single player RPGs (due to lack of internet stability) that are focused on single player, or can be played with just one person.

The best ones I have played are TKoK and Magnador. TKoK gets too hard solo though, and Magnador I got stuck after a certain point.

If anyone can point me in the right direction to other RPGs that have custom skill systems and item systems such as those two I would greatly appreciate it.

I also tried Neverwinter Nights which was fun for a little bit.

WC3: Frozen THrone Patch Error

I recieve the following message when i try to run Warcraft 3 Frozen Thrones. My game has been running fin until the most recent patch. I Downloaded the patch from battle.net, and now i get this error message:

Frozen Throne was unable to find War3.exe. Please make sure your game is correctly installed, and that your frozen throne disc is in your CD-ROM drive, and try again.

As far as i know, a few patches ago they made it so you don't need the disc to play. I've tried it on two seperate computers on two seperate networks and i get the same error on both. I've tried inserting the CD, that didn't work. I've tried re-installing it 3 times, once in a different CD Drive. I have no idea what to do, and the Warcraft 3 site doesn't offer much patch help as far as i've seen. Please help!

Though we do have some young kids on the CS team for the most part people are 20+. I am 16, but I think for the most part our members are very mature.

The average win rate when I checked was like around 47-48% This is because the wc3 section doesn't have as many active members as it did before.

If anyone wants to join and your active and are loyal you do have an shot at getting a high rank before the wc3 section starts filling up. We really want some very active players.

If you played a battle.net game you would have to use battle.net which is free.

Those games would be Starcraft, Warcraft, and Diablo.

However we also support Counter Strike 1.6 and Source.

Hello. I am new to this community, but seems a great site.

I just uploaded my new original game today, "Mercenaries 1.0.0.0".

I uploaded it into Altered Melee category. For a few hours it said pending... but now it does not appear in My Maps, nor do I see the game posted.

I do see that the Mercenaries load screen image attachment I included in the upload is now incorrectly visible under the game "Open Barrage", which is unrelated to my game.

I'm not sure why this glitch occured, but could you please correct?

Thanks.|||So I noticed the .jpg I attached with the game is bleeding into a lot of other games for some reason? I'm guessing the authors of these various games don't want a .jpg that says MERCENARIES being injected into their game download. If the images were uploaded, then I don't mind cause it promotes my game, but I'm guessing what happened was a bleeding glitch.... and could get others mad. Site Admins might want to look into this... It seems rather widespread, and in different categories.

Can't open World Editor

I am new to this forums but know to work with World Editor. Created some maps earlier but haven't saved them on CD or Floppy before system reboot, so i'm a little stupid.

I need some help. I patched Warcraft to v1.20e and can't open World Editor. It asks me for Warcraft III CD, I insert it to CD-DVD ROM and it again asks for CD. Why is that? Maybe because i havent been patching older patch versions. I instantly patched to 1.20e, no earlier versions and think it is because of it. If not can u help me pls. I want World Editor. And one more thing, anyone can give me 3ds Max download link. I need it for Warcraft III Art Tools.

That's not it. But perhaps you should considering patching to the latest version - because it no longer requires you to insert a CD at all (for the editor or the main program).

You can download a free 30-day trial from Autodesk, but if you are asking for someone to give you a link to an illegal/cracked version, that's a good way to get yourself banned from the site.|||Thanks for trying to help, but, I downloaded warcraft 3 hashes and extracted it and my game then patched to 1.22 alone and i can't patch 1.22 with blizzards patch. And still asks for CD when opening World Editor

And great lol. That version is 908 MB size. i will need hours to download it with 512 KB on this ****ting computer, and i share network with other computer so it is more ****tier. Oh and i forgot to say something so edited. When I extracted that War3Hashes my Frozen Throne maps turned in to file of unknown format for computer. They dont have blue map icon, they have icon of unknown files (like when u create word document, or any other and set to all files, not to programs default and just write name without .doc or .w3x ....) Sry for my stupidness.|||Yes, reinstall the game, but instead of trying to download 1.22b manually, just connect to Battle.net and Blizzard with patch your wc3 game automatically.

That should end the problem.|||Thx. i will reinstall game, but i have already downloaded all patches, and i don't and can't use battle.net because I don't have CD key for it. I haven't original war3 and TFT. I bought in CD shop so it is probably pirate or cracked version.

I am looking for a really well done warcraft map with all/mostly custom skins, models, units, spells, etc. I realize this would take a very long time to make, so I was just wondering if there were any out there already. I have been on a few chinese websites and they have some pretty good ones, tho i cant read anything lol.|||There's plenty of maps that fit that description out there. What kind of map are you looking for?

The category is defined by teams of players with opponent bases that spawn computer-controlled units that meet on the battlefield. Players typically control a limited number of units (commonly only a hero and mercenary/summoned units). Victory can be achieved by (but sometimes isn't restricted to) destroying the opponent base(s).|||I just downloaded a DoTA template and want to import these anime characters from a few other maps, along with some items, but I dont know where to start. Can someone help me?|||If the maps can be opened in the editor normally, then yes: click on the unit/ability/item etc. and press control+C (copy), open the map you want to port them to and press Control+V (paste) in the place where they go. Same can be done with triggers for triggered abilities. Make sure to give credit to the original creator.

If the map has been protected, then no: find some other place to help you steal stuff, that's not an appropriate topic for this site.|||I'm looking for a map I used to play.

There were three factions, Humans (light), Undead, Nature (?). I don't remember it being too popular. Each faction tried to get control by killing the other.

The hero selection was on top of a mountain on the center of the map. Your hero you choose was randomly placed on the map and was given a small band of regular units. Units could be purchased around the map to help you. There were gold mines you could control.

There were also quests and events that played out. You could only carry so much money and had to buy a pack beast (horse or kodo) to be able to carry more. I can't remember the name of the map to save the life of me. Does any of this sound familiar?

Old replays

I have some replays from way back that i wish to view. Mostly because i pooned one of my friends and he doesnt believe i did. When i try to open the file it comes up with a warcraft screen saying that the replay was for another version. So! Does anyone know how im able to view these replays or are they just trash taking up space on my computer?

Cheers!|||Un-install Warcraft 3 then Re-install Warcraft 3 and download each and every update and keep trying your replays until they work, otherwise yes they are trash taking up 20kb of space...|||I thought I once saw a program that allowed for the viewing replays from previous WarCraft3 versions. Maybe I just dreamed that, but you could try to look around for it.|||There is a way to watch old replays - a program named 'Nostalgia'. It requires:

- Java runtime environment

- old patches

- old replays

The procedure is actually quite painless.

One of them is to never download any pirated executables, because a lot of them are rigged with viri and spyware. Only download executables from well-know and respectable sources.

You do not need any emulator to play these maps. All you need is a valid, working copy of WarCraft3. Although, if you are trying to play a map file that ends in .w3x on the Reign of Chaos, then that will not work because w3x files are only playable on the Frozen Throne expansion.

You take the map file and put it in your "maps" directory of your WC3 installation. On my computer, for example, it is the directory found at the path " C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Maps\Download ". Then, all you have to do is start WC3, find the map, and play it.

Map Filename

I uploaded my map with the file name of "Footmen_Frenzy_XV_4.7", however, the resulting file name is "FootmenFrenzyXV47-1220192371". I know this doesn't affect the map at all, however, it does force people who already have the map to redownload it.

Is there a way to fix this issue? Can you fix it for me?|||Just post a note on your page telling them to manually rename the file. That's all you can really do about it.

Im from an university in Brazil, we want to use Warcraft 3 in a competition inside the university but we will install it in about 40 machines, so I want to know if we need to buy one cd-key to each one of this machines?? or is there any other way of not spend so much money??

I will contact Blizzard... ;)|||actually i think you'd need multiple CDs anyway, ROC and TFT dont run without their CDs.|||One TFT and RoC is enough. You need to have the CD when you start the game, but you can remove the CD after that. This applies to most Blizzard games.

Tower Defense Map?

Hello everybody!

I want to play a Tower Defense map that i played before, but i cant remember the name of it.

the map is formed licke an "U" and the enemies comes from the rigth corner. i think it is about 60 or 70 levels of the monsters, and you have to write in "go" to let the monsters come at you. the last monster is "Mannoroth" a giant monster whit a big sword.

TFT not patching

Sorry if this is the wrong forum to post this in...but here we go:

I'm still working off of v1.07 of TFT for OS X because I just got this computer a while ago, installed ROC and TFT, and then dashed off for college--I never bothered to patch, forgetting that, hey, I need to patch the game if I want to play the second and third acts of the orc campaign.

Well, I'm trying to patch now. It's not working. First, I tried to access the old patch pages at Blizzard.com, figuring that I should install the old patches first. Couldn't access that part of the site, which is either an issue with Blizzard's server or my campus firewall, which is too good at what it does. So I tried to download 1.17a. Multiple attempts to download it later, I got one that worked and downloaded.

I clicked on it...and got told that "BNUpdate was unable to find any installed software that requires patching." Um, right.

So I go to connect to battle.net in hopes that I can get the patch that way. It won't connect after sitting around for a few minutes. I suspect the campus firewall of preventing that, which annoys me to no end.

Then I was going to go to Blizzard's support forum and post there, but it needs a CD key to log-in, and my CD key is 250 miles away at my house with the CD case. D'oh. I can call/e-mail and ask for it, I guess, but it's too late in the evening to get a response right away. Hence my posting here.

Is there any way at all I can patch this bleeping game? I'm starting to go nuts here. (And for the record, no, I can't take the computer off campus to an internet cafe or something to connect to the internet without El Firewall Diablo; I have a desktop.)|||it seems its all pointing to the firewall. the firewall wont allow any servers or programs to access the computer. you would probly have to go somewhere else or something. even if you did download the patch somehow you wouldnt be able to log on to bnet anyway because of the firewall. or if you can you probly wont beable to host or join games online.|||There is probably another reason.......

Gotta make sure your CD is original.

Frukiz|||You only need to have RoC installed on your computer before you can install tFT, and you do need the RoC key to install RoC.|||I believe that when you play on b.net with TFT you are using both RoC and TFT CD-keys. I'm not 100% sure, however.

Anyone have the old replay commentary with a guy making fun of tillerman? It's about 8-10 years old. I just saw the original tillerman replay on youtube, that's not the one I want. The one I'm talking about is a guy making a replay of his own and commentating on the imbalance of UD vs HU. He does it in an exaggerated tillerman voice. Towards the end he starts saying how the High School football kids were totally overpowered and used to bully him. It's funny as hell. Can someone find it and post it on youtube?

Hi, i'm searching for a map i used to play but forgotten its name. Its a custom map where you can buy different kind of units and merge it together to form a different kinda unit. I remember clearly there's a fire mage and eye of chaos as a unit. after that, you will be teleported back and fight creeps for a certain amount of time and then if not mistaken every 5 levels there is a boss level.

Looking for old Diablo map

Hey,

Hoping someone can help. A few years ago now I had downloaded a custom Warcraft 3 map (I think RoC).

It was a 3 player Diablo I game. You chose to be one of the three classes (Warrior, Rogue or Mage) and you toured the whole map through different scenery, dungeons etc. replicating all the bosses from D1.

There are a few Diablo maps out there at the moment but none are the one I am looking for - I swear I got it off Battle.net and it has since gone?

Only specifics I remember are:

The Rogue's ultimate was Starfall.

The Mage had Chain Lightning and a 'Fire Wave' spell of some sort.

You could pick up The Butcher's cleaver as an item when you killed him.

You could play as 1 Player and set the other two as Computer.

I *think* there were class-specific items.

Ring any bells? I miss this map a lot!! Thanks.

I'm using this browser, Google Chrome (beta), and it works pretty well with all sites (this one to). But it says it detects a malware on this site. It doesn't do it atm but sometimes it does (most cases) and sometimes it don't :S This might scare people looking at this page and get this warning with google chrome so I recommend you guys delete this malvare. Or if there isn't one... destroy the fake one.

Footman vs Grunts v6 Ultimate

I really love the newbie-w3 foots vs grunts maps, and to date his v6 ultimate is the best.

The only problem is that most of the time, the game splits into 2, i.e. there we will be 1 or 2 players left on 1 team and no one on the other, meanwhile the game is still being played by others.

Is there anyway to contact newbie-w3 and ask him to look into it?

Looking for an old AOS-like map

Hello people, i've spent one hour or 2 scouting the web for this map but i can't find traces of it... I remember too little, but it was unique to it for most part.

Its an AOS-like map

There was a hero, called Zephyr, if i remember well (thats where i discovered this name which i find sounds really nice). This hero's ultimate would make it transform into a twister, how awesome is that lol..

I remember the map has lots of water, secret places you could go, moving secret shop. In the middle of the map was like a mountain i beleive, and thats where you could win the game i think.

As far playing custom maps on battle.net, most of the RoC games that I ran into only had the basic, unmodified abilities since the RoC editor didn't allow for custom abilities. There are ways to hack an RoC map and insert things that are normally only available on TFT, but every single one that I have ever played was unstable. You will see far more interesting maps to play online when you are using TFT.

As far as map making, TFT editor is FAR superior to the RoC editor in MANY ways. I don't even know where to begin...

I think you still need to first install RoC in order to be able to install TFT. I'm pretty sure I tried to install TFT without RoC once, and it wouldn't let me.

Looking For Zombie map...... PLEASE help

Okay this been driving me crazy since i dont remmber the name of the map.... it been long time ago and it was pretty cool map that i used to host every day.....

It a Zombie map.......

Basicly

players have to survive for like 15mins or something........ and their is two players controlling army of zombies (that more and more spawned as it got closer to end of time) trying to kill other players in that time

each player had items that acted like skills......with limited usage... their was no teleportation. basicly you dodged zombies the whole match, and didnt really try to make a base or anything....

You just hide seperatly from zombies... ;) and try to survive... you didnt build anything.

Sort of like Tree tag where you have to survive for certain time, expect if ur dead ur dead, and no building, and items with limited usage instead of skills.

i cant remmber what it was called it was something like Dawn of Dead, or undead city, cant remmber....

I know it wasnt Night of the dead, or Dawn of the dead.

It was very medium/small sized map. with one-two players controlling zombies, and other players hideing on the map and runing away from zombie hopeing to surivive until timer runs out and chopper comes :)

O.o it was great map and exciting. if anyone know what talking about please let me know so that i can start hosting it on Warcraft 3 again.|||I once made a map that kind of sounds like that, but it probably isn't the same one that you're referring to.

Timer was 15 mins.....

Custome Items that everyone had was like 2 of each of health pack/adreline root/grenade/stunt grenade.

And Two players controlled zombies that spawned and kept spawing more and more........ as it got closer to end of 15mins...... and the zombies were of medium strength.... like if 3-5 of them would get close enough you die ;P but u wouldnt die as fast... like best way to kill the marine was to surrand him and get him stuck or make him run into a dead end xD and eat him

But THEY where REALLY slow...... >.> so u could out run them but eventually their numbers grew so huge.... that it was very hard dodging them cause they where all over the place....

Like the whole point of that map was not sticking togather.......... but more..... of ...

Hide/Seek.... sort of like Tree Tag.... expect without building...

And Players that would die would drop their items and players sometimes would take a chance to get those items to surive better.... ;P

Fighting/sticking togather actuly got you killed in that game x) and it was always best to hide individually... and hopeing someone gets killed so you cna go pick up their items :P

IF i wont be able to find it i am think of making a custom map that is very close copy to it.... i remmber most of the map....

But not sure about the triggers i am gone have to write/items create.... and such.

Error when playing mauls

Whenever i play a longer maul, mostly wintermaul or wintermaul remade beta. my comp freezes and a critical error pops up. was wondering if anyone had a similar problem and new how to fix it. thanks|||It's probably a memory leak issue. Find a better version. Or, you could learn to use the map editor and correct the problems yourself, assuming that the problems are correctable.

I once saw a map that seemed to have unprotected for editing. Sometimes it would load into the editor properly, and sometimes it wouldn't. I don't think that you could do anything about that sort of problem.

Also, some map protectors will cause that to happen sometimes. The process of protecting the map with occasionally break it. If the map is protected, then your only hope is to contact the author.

Trying to locate old RPG

Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me out in finding this RPG I played a long time ago that I really enjoyed. I dont have too much information on it because it was so long ago but here's what I have. I remember that you selected your hero from a kind of pedestal. There were 3 or 4 ledges tiered vertically to eachother lined up with heros. I believe that this was in the bottom right of the map somewhere. When you chose your hero the map shifted to the north western part of the map and had a fixed camera position in a 3rd person view behind your hero. You could then go south onto a sort of peninsula where you fought low level crabs and such to level up. After that you could head east from town across a shallow river to a forest. Across this forest on the opposite side of the landmass there was another beach and about midway down and a little into the forest there was a crab. (I actually believe he was a lvl 4 crab, go figure I remember his level but not the name of the RPG.) After killing this crab you got a spear head that from it's shell that you could return to town and complete a quest. Furthermore south of there and to the west you could cross the water again and start fighting even higher level monsters that I think were Makuras. Does this ring any bells to anyone? I would really like to play this RPG again with some friends but I can't for the life of me remember the name. Also I may be wrong but i THINK the word "legend" or some variant of the word was in the title. Whenever I try to search this I always find the Legends open RPG but that is not the one . If anyone could help me out I would really appreciate it.

I used to play w3, but my game is in full french. Just hearing the american voice is hard for me. It's really tough when the 2 commentators use specific terms during the match.

It's only 7min of video but sometimes i really dont understand at all what they say.

ok guys, i have a huge problem

i love wc3 and i used to b able to host but 1 day i cant i have a linksis router thingy ive tried everything to re-host i no u gotta do the cmd thing and type in ur default waygate thing in the url on web browser i do fine until it gets to the part where u gotta log in after u type ur waygate thing admin///admin doesnt work if i leave it blank it doesnt work if i do admin as pass it doesnt work if i do admin as username and leave pass blank it doesnt work now heres the thing....ive read things on how do get wc3 to host and when u get to the password part where u try to get into ur router or somthing like that it says somthing similar to this but somhow theres a huge difference A username and password are being requested by http://192.168.1.1. The site says: "WRT54G2" <------thats what it says at the top also i have 1 firewall on and to turn it off u have to click on a link....that leads u to a website that (on my comp) doesnt work...... i am rlly in trouble, as i have no idea wtf to do

Looking for an old Tower Defense map

There was this tower defense map I used to play a lot, unfortunately I cannot remember the name of it so I will try describing it the best I can.

There were lanes that ran from north to south, you would get a standard builder and you would have to make the maze that monsters would follow. Now the thing that made it stick out was at the bottom, you would get a hero (I believe it was illidan, but you might have been able to choose him. If you could, I always chose illidan) who would fight mobs who would spawn down there and you could also use your money to buy things from the shop near the hero. One of the final towers I remember was a dragon roost. The last thing I remember is if you actually beat it, you would get a code to spawn a super builder that only you could use (I guess it made the code based on your name).

That's unfortunately all I can remember of it. It's a long shot at best, but hopefully someone could point me in the right direction.

2 player cooperative hero defence

Hi I�m looking for a cool 2 player cooperative hero defence map.

I like the ones with waves of different monsters, that me and my friend can slaughter by working together.

Lots of different heroes to choose from is also nice.

Warcraft III Vista/XP Lan?

Hey guys, I have a new computer on the way and I have the opportunity to pick Vista or XP on it. I was thinking about Vista for the DX10, but I realized something. My friend brings over his PC often and we LAN our PC's and play together. We both currently have XP. If I upgrade from XP to Vista, can we have two different OS's LAN on WC3? The operating system should not matter with respect to playing games over a LAN connection - just as they should not matter with respect to playing games over an internet connection (via bnet).

It's the games that are interfacing through the network, not the operating systems.|||Okay, I've done some research also and found that people on Vista are able to host, meaning they could probably LAN also. Another good place to look is the map's description page. You know, that thing that explains the map. That often will tell you how many players are suitable - particularly for maps that are worth playing.

Also, I'm going to disagree with RDZ a little - I'm pretty sure nearly all of the maps listed under 'campaign' are designed for single player. There might not be that many that are great, but there are still plenty available to try.|||Hence one reason I try to create a basic AI in my maps by use of alot of triggers.|||Quote:

Neither of those things were specified by the original poster, either.

There also are plenty of maps that are designed to be played as multi-player maps that can function as single-player maps... you know, for people who don't play well with others and/or have no friends. That's why I suggest just reading the map descriptions. Asking for specific information about the entire map database in a general way is not the best approach to getting your question answered in a specific way.

Also, all of the cinematic maps are single-player maps.

ive read in a thread that there was a way to customize spell hotkeys for your hero as well as other things if anyone can shed some light on this it would be greatly appreciated|||If you mean by using the map editor to modify the map, then yes, you can change that in the Object Editor. If you mean without using the map editor, then I think you will have to use some kind of keyboard key remapping software.

Unable to connect to friend's custom game

My friend and I are trying to play each other, but we're unable to connect to either games we create. I've read about port forwarding, but I'm afraid I don't understand it. Is there anyway we can just connect without going through battlenet? Thanks for any help,

Both my friend and I have disabled our firewalls, and still, we are unable to connect to each other. I've been to portforward.com, and attempted to follow the instructions, but I'm unable to get my DNS. I even called my ISP, and they didn't know what I was talking about, even though what I was reading said they "definitely would."

You were probably reading about setting up a static IP address. Their guide for doing so is located here:

Once you have done that, try to find you router on the following page, and follow the instructions.

http://portforward.com/routers.htm|||Is portforwarding safe?|||All it does is tell the router to pass along certain traffic that it receives for a certain port on to your computer. Once that traffic reaches your computer, your firewall, assuming you have one, will deal with it just the same as it would if you didn't have any router to deal with.

Just think of a router as an extra firewall. If you already have one, then you don't have anything to worry about.

Warcraft 3 roleplayers... Are they still here?

I had a friend on WoW state how there was once RP on WC3. Does it still happen? Is the roleplay up to date with the lore?

CD-Key Disabled

I used to Maphack a while ago and then stopped when i realized how bad i was at legit games and wanted to strive to get better.

My account has the CD-Key disabled. And i was wondering for how long? I emailed blizzard and they said first time temp 2nd time most likely a perm ban.

That doesn't help me because my friend got a temp ban about a year or 2 ago and doesn't remember if it was my cd key or his at the time.

Blizzard is being of no help, is there another place i can look? i don't want to wait indefinitely to see if i got permanent ban, and i don't want to buy a new WC3 if it is a temp ban.|||I guess you can only wait and check from time to time if the ban has been taken away. If Blizzard can't help you, then no one can, unless of course someone has made an unofficial archive of bans, which I really doubt. You can go to unofficial servers (for example via garena) and play there until you realize the status of your ban.

So, my little brother got the warcraft 3 battlechest with w3:ROC and w3:FT and we are trying to install... but we can't because we can't find the CD Key on any of the merchandise. I figured it would be really easy to find and maybe I am just overlooking it, but I have come to these forums to hopefully get some help. It isn't anywhere on the CDs, the CD case, the booklets, the package it came in. We can't find it anywhere. Maybe it is on the 43rd page of the 2nd booklet or something, but we are hoping you all can help. Thanks for your speedy responses.|||Nothing? I went through it all with a fine-tooth comb. If i remember right, the key was on either the back of the case or the back of the instruction booklet on my copy.

Everytime i get into a game in TFT i get disconnected. It keeps saying "searching for host." Does anyone know whats wrong and if so please help me out. I've tried reinstalling the game and everything but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?|||Correction. It doesn't say searching for host" it says "Waiting on host."|||Check the time stamp for when the game was hosted. Sometimes really old games that have long since ended are left on the list, and trying to join them is useless.

Also, that is a common thing to see from time to time. Different things happen, like a host leaving a game right as you join, etc.

If it always does that, you may have a firewall or router issue.

Hosting on Battle.net

Hi, so most people complain that they can't host games because they have no idea how to work their router or firewalls... I have no such problems but a more "interesting" one. I can host just fine... HALF the time. The other half, only about 5 players can join; they trickle in very slowly and no matter how long I wait, how many times I auto refresh, the game never fills... This is extremely strange to me because obviously some people can still join the game but others cannot. Any help would be greatly appreciated.|||Hey, i think i solved ur problem. So, this happns alot on xbox live too. Also on Ps3. THis has to do with your router, and the security level. I forgot what this is called, but if your router can't connect with others it's not because your security is too high its because its in the middle. YOu cant do much abut this, but i would recommend searching for a professional!|||If you check on intrnet options and put it to the LOWEST setting, it might work.. But I've never tried it so I can't guarantee anything... But try it anyway! lol

Alright im new to this forum so sorry if im doing anything wrong but...

After many years retired ive decided to return to the amazingness that is warcraft.

Alright, ive still got Warcraft installed and i used to have the game so ive got a real CD key for frozen throne...no keygens or anything. The problem is ive lost my CD.

Will I be able to play online if I use a no cd crack or a image to start up the game considering my frozen throne key is real?



Or alternatively does anyone know any site where i can play online with others outside of battle.net? I particularly used to like RP maps and tower defences and things like that so yea any advice would be appreciated.

Or ofcorse if anyone on this forum wanna play together maps such as various RPs, RPGs, Tower defences or anything else really through himachi or another similar program contact me.

I just wanna get back into online warcraft, dont particularly care how I do it haha
